Why is it important to have my vehicle regularly serviced?

It is important to have your vehicle regularly serviced to:

  • Check or replace vital fluids
  • Check or adjust electronic functions
  • Check or adjust mechanical functions

When your vehicle is regularly serviced, you can feel confident that you are getting the best performance out of it. Regular servicing and preventative maintenance is a great way to avoid more costly repairs further down the track.

What are the benefits of having my vehicle regularly serviced?

A routinely serviced vehicle will benefit from:

  • Extended vehicle life and reliability
  • Reduced fuel consumption
  • Increased vehicle safety
  • Reduce wearing of moving parts
  • Maintaining road-worthiness

Having a complete service history of your vehicle will also improve the resale value when the time comes.

How often should I have my vehicle serviced?

Your vehicle's manufacturer typically specifies maximum time and maximum distance intervals between services. Generally, this is around every 6 months or 10,000-15,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. You can find the manufacturer's recommendations in your vehicle logbook.

Your vehicle log book may also include basic maintenance that you can complete yourself, such as windscreen wiper replacements and washer fluid top-ups, as well as recommendations when various parts should be inspected or replaced.

It's important to remember, that regardless of how often your vehicle is in use, it requires regular servicing. Regular servicing is a necessary expense, which keeps your vehicle safe and on the road.
